Profit Growth Strategy

Profit First reverses the usual order. Instead of hoping something is left at the end of the month, a set percentage moves aside on every deposit and the business runs on the remainder.

What This Covers

A method, not a motivational exercise. It changes how pricing, spending and owner pay get decided.

Profit First accounts opened and allocation percentages set against your real numbers

Allocations applied on a regular rhythm so profit, tax and owner pay move first

Pricing and margin worked through service by service, not averaged across the business

Owner pay planned deliberately rather than taken from whatever is in the account

Quarterly reviews to reset the percentages as the business changes

The method run alongside the bookkeeping, so the allocations are based on current figures

Good fit if

The business is busy but you cannot see the profit

Tax time is a recurring shock

You pay yourself last, or irregularly, or not at all

You have read Profit First and want help actually running it

Our Approach

How It Works

Step 1

Free consultation

A short call to look at how money currently moves through the business and what you are taking out of it.

Step 2

Assessment

Current revenue, costs and owner pay measured so the starting percentages are based on real figures rather than a template.

Step 3

Set up the accounts

The accounts opened and the first allocations run, at percentages the business can actually survive.

Step 4

Quarterly review

Percentages stepped toward the target as margin improves, with pricing revisited each quarter.

Where we work

Available Across East Texas, Dallas and Orange County

The practice is remote, so the county you are in decides very little. These are the areas Kathryn works in most.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Profit First?

A cash management method that allocates profit before expenses rather than after. A set percentage of every deposit moves aside first and the business operates on what remains, which forces pricing and spending decisions to be made deliberately.

My margins are thin. Will this work?

It starts where the business actually is. The opening percentages are set so the business keeps running, then stepped up as margin improves. Starting at one percent and holding it beats starting at fifteen and abandoning it in month two.

Do I need multiple bank accounts?

The method works by separating money so it cannot be spent twice. How many accounts that takes depends on your bank and your business, and it is one of the first things worked out together.
