Does not include

Preparing or filing returns

What we do

What This Covers

Bookkeeping is the floor everything else stands on. This is the work that keeps it level.

Bank, credit card and loan accounts reconciled every month

Transactions categorised against a chart of accounts built for your business, not a generic template

Profit and loss, balance sheet and cash position delivered on a fixed schedule

Payroll and sales figures tied back to the general ledger

Clean-up of prior periods where the books have drifted, scoped and quoted before any work starts

Records organised so whoever files your return can work from them without chasing you

Good fit if

The books are behind and you are not certain how far

A lender, board or funder expects real statements

Your reports balance but tell you nothing useful

You are doing the books at night instead of running the business

Our Approach

How It Works

Step 1

Free consultation

A short call to see where the books stand, what software you use and what the reporting actually needs to do.

Step 2

Scope and quote

A written scope covering any clean-up and the monthly cycle, priced before anything begins.

Step 3

Clean-up and setup

Prior periods brought current, the chart of accounts rebuilt where it needs to be, and the reporting put in place.

Step 4

Monthly cycle

Reconciliation, categorisation and reporting on a fixed schedule, with a call whenever you want to walk through the numbers.

Where we work

Available Across East Texas, Dallas and Orange County

The practice is remote, so the county you are in decides very little. These are the areas Kathryn works in most.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How far behind is too far behind?

There is no such thing. Kathryn has taken on files that were a year behind and accounts that had never been reconciled at all. Catching up is a defined piece of work with a start and an end, quoted before it begins.

Do you work in my accounting software?

Most small business platforms are fine. Bring whatever you are already using to the first call and Kathryn will tell you honestly whether it suits the business or whether moving would save you money.

Will you file my tax return at year end?

No. SmartAccounting Firm does not prepare or file returns. The books are kept so that whoever does file them can work from clean records without chasing you for information.
